SYNOPSIS
QuinnI’d say I’m down on my luck, but that’s an understatement. I’m flat on my ass. Homeless, hungry and in hiding with my little sister at the age of twenty-one, I’ve never been so desperate. I’ve hit rock bottom when I get an offer I can’t refuse. Sell my body to save my sister? There’s nothing I won’t do to keep her safe. I make the rules and I’m not afraid to defend myself if this rich guy crosses the line. But once I see beneath his cold, calculating façade, the lines aren’t so clear anymore.
Andrew
She’s an intoxicating mix of tough and vulnerable I’ve never known before. This homeless woman who fits right into my upper-class world is running from someone powerful, and I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her. But Quinn isn’t meant to be controlled, so I’m forced to choose between owning her and loving her. I’ve finally met my match, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make her truly mine.

Amazon/Goodreads rating: 5/5

Little did I know that I'd feel compelled to read HIS until I was done, even if that meant heading to bed at 3 am. Then again, I should have expected a book hangover from this author.
The synopsis tells you straight away that this story will involve two main characters whose lives should be completely different - a filthy rich man and a homeless woman, it should be a Cinderella tale, right? Wrong. So wrong. And that's exactly why this is such a fantastic read. From the moment you meet Quinn, you see how strong - but also how vulnerable - she is. Andrew sees that, too. Add some explosive chemistry, a slow burn, some twists and turns, and you'll be along for one exciting ride.
I've always been a big Brenda Rothert fan. Her books seem to suck me into their world every time, and this one was no different. It's a well-paced read, with great flow and a good balance between the romance and the rest of the plot. The build, the momentum, and the tension all reflected what I've come to expect from this author. If you've read her work and enjoyed it, you will not be disappointed. Quinn and Andrew belong aside all the best of her characters. If you haven't read her work, this standalone story is a great place to start.
