This is just a wonderfully written mystery story. The writer uses great descriptive language to bring the reader into the story. The author has a great talent for writing thriller stories to give you chills and wide-eyed- edge of sit feelings. She was able to keep this reader guessing. I am afraid to give anything away because the author is awesome at using every detail to create this story.
James’ family left their small town for the “quiet” of Ohio. They decide to return to Oakridge, which bring up things James was not comfortable with. The author shows some of the pain victims of abuse and bullying indore while intertwining with an unsolved murder talently. In the story, the characters are not who they seem, filled with secrets and dark pasts. The town seems like a quaint hamlet, with a real homespun feel, but can this town hold such deep, dark, horrible secrets and not implode?
If you are a lover of mystery stories you must read this. I literally could not put it down. I have a major book hangover to prove it. From the first chapter until the last, I was guessing as to “who done it”. The twists were some unpredictable and the end blew my mind. Excellently done, Ms. Valentine. Thank you for keeping me on the edge of my sit. I can't wait to read more of these stories from this author.
