This book has left me with a book hangover and I’m not really sure how I can write this review without giving anything away. The Over Duet is a story of first loves, second chances, and hard truths. You need to read book one in the series first as this book continues where Low over High ended. While the first book was mainly focused on Marlo, this one gives us more information about Ever even though it is told in both points of views.

Ever was a mess in high school and he had no idea what to do with his feeling and that caused him to squander away every chance he had with Marlo until one day she just disappeared. Now eight years later they have a chance meeting. Ever is not giving up this time around and he will do what he needs do to break down Marlo’s walls. Will he be able to break those walls and get the answers needed? Will Marlo let Ever get that second chance?

Marlo and Ever are not the same kids they were eight years ago in high school. They have both been through many different experiences and each have their own demons they are dealing with daily. This is an emotional story that you will find very difficult to put down. There are some surprises that I didn’t see coming and events I thought were going to happen but that was not the turn they took. While the book did have an ending and didn’t end in a cliffhanger like book one, I feel there needs to be more to the story as it didn’t feel like it really was the end. I also enjoyed getting peeks into the lives of the other characters from the actual Over series and am looking forward to reading more from this author.
