**Low Blow is the fourth book in the Shots On Goal series and can be read as a STANDALONE.**
One injury - a freaking broken rib.
That's all it took to send life into a tailspin at the age of sixteen. After getting a heart transplant, I knew that I could never take life or my talents for granted - I was going to be the best of the best. Boxing consumed my life and I was on track for greatness. Everything was perfect until I woke up one morning, ten years after my surgery with an overwhelming need to meet her - the girl whose father's heart beat in my chest. Little did I know that she was going to save me all over again.

Low Blow is a novella that is the fourth installment in the Shots on Goal series.  This  fast read book can be read as a stand alone, but there will be some spoilers about characters from prior books, as they make an appearance in this book.

While the other books in the series focus on the Otters hockey team, this book is about Gavin’s younger brother, Griffin, who found his sport is boxing.  At the age of 16 during a boxing match, some broken ribs changed his life.  He was given a second chance at life that day, but ten years later he is still missing something.  Thanks to the encouragement of his family, he figures out that closure is what is needed.  He sets out to get that closure.  Finding the daughter of the man who provided the heart that saved Griffin’s life was not what he expected.   What will he find on this path?  Is this going to help him fill the hole in his soul?

This was a non-stop read and one that I really wish was more of a novel than novella.  I wish that there was more to the story.  I understand the fast pace of the story, but for this reader, I wish it didn’t go as quickly.  There were times that the story seemed to have a slightly choppy flow.  It was great catching up with the characters from the prior books and I really enjoyed getting to know Griffin.  I do look forward to reading more from this author and this series.
